Confirmation 2019

Thank you to Archbishop Mark for visiting the parish community last Thursday to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation for the 147 children at Kenmore Church. Thanks to all the children and families who prepared themselves for the sacrament and were open to a new way of preparation for the sacraments in the Parish.
Thanks to Carole Danby from the Archdiocesan Office for Evangelisation who led the preparation session with the children and guided the process and thanks to the many volunteers and parish staff who have helped with the program this year.

First Holy Communion Program

Preparation for First Communion will commence in late July with Parent Meetings on the 23rd and 25th July. First Holy Communion will be celebrated on the weekend of the 7th/ 8th September at Kenmore and Moggill Churches. If your child has been confirmed and has not enrolled in the process for First Communion please contact the parish office as soon as possible on 3878 6655.

Trial Changes to Parish Car Park Kenmore

OLR Parish, primary school & P&F have joined forces to form a traffic management committee to look at options for greater pedestrian safety, easing of congestion and improvements to traffic flow across the entire OLR precinct. From this coming Monday an initial trial will commence with the Church car park on Kenmore Road as short term car parking only from Monday to Friday. This will mean NO ALL DAY PARKING, which we hope will enable visitors to the school, parish, OSHC & Kindy to come and go more easily, particularly for drop off and pick up where children need to be walked to & from classrooms or parishioners visiting the Chapel or attending Mass.

Restoration update

The roofing works on OLR Church are proceeding well, with the new box guttering largely completed, repointing of ridge caps and repair or replacement of damaged tiles completed. The pressure clean of the roof is underway in readiness for the tiles to be sealed & painted. The spire & Cross have been repainted and the perspex on the spire replaced. The new LED lighting on the Cross is being fitted as we type and it is hoped will be illuminated this weekend. Next will be the painting of the facia and follow up painting works on the support beams, breeze blocks, handrails and safety rails. Internally the textured bulkhead will be repainted whilst the confessional & back vestry rebuild will commence soon. The restoration of various liturgical furnishings are also underway with others in the planning.
